New AI Features in Chrome

After adding AI features to other Google apps, Google has decided to launch 3 new generative AI features in Chrome. It will help users search and work more efficiently. Google Explained in their blogpost that Chrome’s new version (M121) will feature three generative AI features to make it easier and more efficient to browse. The new features will be available to all PC and Mac users, starting first in the United States. As the features are currently new, they will not be available for enterprise and educational accounts.

How to Enable these AI features in Chrome

To enable the AI features in Chrome, you need to sign in to your browser, click on the 3 dots at the top right of the browser, click on settings, and you will find an Experimental AI feature in the settings. You need to manually enable that option to use these AI features.

The three Generative AI features added to the new version of Chrome are:

1. Organize Similar Tabs

While using the Chrome browser, it is quite common to open multiple tabs while searching for multiple things. This makes it difficult to find the specific tab you opened earlier. Users need to go through every tab in order to find the specific tab.

With the new “Organize Similar Tabs” AI feature, you can easily manage multiple similar tabs. With this AI feature, Chrome automatically suggests and creates tabs based on your current open tabs. Chrome also suggests names for the new groups to make your search experience easier. To use this feature, right-click on the tab you want to group and click on “Organize similar tabs.” Alternatively, you can also click on the drop-down arrow that is present at the left of your tabs.

2. Create themes with AI

Last year, Google introduced the AI wallpapers feature in Google Pixel 8. Now the company is bringing this feature to their Chrome browser to help users personalize the browser. Users will be able to create custom AI themes based on their current mood and style. They will also have the option to choose a custom color.

To use this feature at the bottom right of a new tab page, click on Customize Chrome. Click on Change Theme, and after that, click on Create With AI. Here, you will be able to select a subject from a list of popular subjects. You can also select the style, mood, and custom color under Add Optional Details. After this, click on Create, and a set of themes will be generated by AI based on your selections. Select a theme to apply to the New Tab Page.

3. Help Me Write

Writing is a difficult task for a beginner who wants to represent their thoughts in blogs, reviews, or public forums. Google apps like Google Docs and Gmail already have the “Help Me Write” feature to help users. The new version of Chrome is also going to have this AI-powered feature, which will help you write easily on the web.

To use this feature, users simply need to right-click on a text box or a field on any website on Chrome and select the “Help me Write” option. After typing a few words, AI will automatically help you by giving suggestions based on your current text.
