Tech Giant Google has made a lot of new announcements, including the launch of their new chatbot, Google Gemini Advanced, the renaming of Bard to Gemini, and the launch of their new Android app, known as Google Gemini. In this post, you will learn everything about the new announcements made by Google.
What is Google Gemini Advanced?
It is Google’s new chatbot that gives you access to Google’s most capable AI multimodal Gemini Ultra 1.0.
Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, said that the Gemini Advanced is “far more capable at reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration.”
Gemini Advanced is available in more than 150 countries and territories. The chatbot is currently available in English, but Google plans to expand it to other languages soon.
Google also said that they have followed AI principles with various trust security checks, including external red-teaming, before launching Gemini Advanced.

Google Gemini Advanced Pricing
Google Advanced is available under Google’s One AI Premium Plan, which costs $19.99 per month. Google is also providing a 2-month free trial of Google Advanced with Google one’s AI premium plan.
Users purchasing this plan will get access to Google Advanced along with Google’s best AI features and benefits, such as 2 TB of cloud storage, seamless integration of Gemini across Gmail, Docs, other workspace applications, and more.
Google Bard Renamed to Gemini
Tech Giant Google officially announced that their AI chatbot Bard will be renamed Gemini. The rumors of this change came out last week, and they all turned out to be true. In December 2023, Google introduced the Gemini model family, which consisted of the Gemini Nano, Gemini Pro, and Gemini Ultra. The newly renamed Gemini will be powered by the Gemini Pro model.
Pichai said, “Bard has been the best way for people to directly experience our most capable models. To reflect the advanced tech at its core, Bard will now simply be called Gemini.”
Google Gemini Mobile App Launched
Google has made it a lot easier to access Gemini on smartphones by launching their all-new Google Gemini mobile app for Android. iOS users can access Gemini through the Google app on iOS. With Gemini, Android, and iOS, users can ask various questions and create images.
For smartphone users, Gemini is currently only available in English in the United States, but Google says they will be rolling out Gemini in Japanese and Korean in more locations next week, with more countries and languages coming soon.

How to access Gemini on Android
Android users can use Gemini directly from the Google Gemini app or via Google Assistant. Once you install Gemini, Google Assistant will be automatically replaced by Gemini Powered Assistant. So actions like long pressing the home button, long pressing the power button, or saying “Hey Google” will enable a new overlay that can accept images as well as text and voice commands, unlike the old Google Assistant.
However, if you don’t like the Gemini-powered assistant, you can switch back to the default Google Assistant through a menu screen in the Assistant app on Android.
But once you reset to the default Google Assistant, the Gemini app will also reset, and when you open it again, you will be asked to make Gemini Powered Assistant your default assistant. This means you can’t use the Gemini App and Google Assistant at the same time.
How to access Gemini on iOS
There is no dedicated app for iOS users, but they can access Gemini via the Google app on iOS.
Conclusion
Google is showing why it is one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Day by day, they are launching a series of AI features in their products and giving tough competition to OpenAI and other tech companies. Gemini Advanced will surely give a healthy competition to ChatGPT Plus, and it will not be a surprise if it surpasses the chatbot.
